Base Compensation: $90-$130K

Our client is seeking experienced Linux System Administrators to join their team in Baltimore, MD.

Successful candidates must be comfortable installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux in production or development environments. The ideal candidate is experienced in a wide spectrum of related technical skill areas including TCP/IP networking, scripting, system backup and restores, software packaging and deployment, and peer mentoring in a leadership capacity.

Required Skills:
• BS in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another IT related curriculum
• 8+ years experience as a System Administrator in a production datacenter or team development environment
• Proficiency in both manual and automated Red Hat Enterprise Linux installations
• Proficiency in system and network configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience in scripting languages, (e.g. Bash (preferred), Bourne, C shell, Perl)
• Experience planning for and performing backups, restores, and disk imaging (e.g. dump, restore, dd)
• Experience in installation and monitoring of Application Servers (e.g. Tomcat, Apache)
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Xen, kickstart)
• RHEL 4/RHEL 5 experience
• Experience with integrating Linux and Windows environments
• RPM (RedHat Package Manager - building, scripting, executing)
• Experience with the following: Remote support (PIXIE boot servers), Errata patching/updating, Building Linux Kernals, tweaking, Cisco Catalyst Switches (POE or otherwise), and Ghost Utilities.
• Experience providing guidance to less experienced system administrators.
• Self motivated team player who can work as a high-level independent contributor or Team Lead.
• Ability to integrate into a multi-contractor Team.
Must have LINUX and SOLARIS experience for this position to be considered.

Desired Skills:
• Experience in database installation, upgrades and maintenance (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Knowledge of the certification & accreditation (C&A) process and requirements defined by NISCAP and DITSCAP
• Applicable recognized certifications (e.g. RHCT, RHCE) are preferred
• Satellite Server experience
• Experience with Dell 1650, 1750,1850,1950 is a plus
• Knowledge of GSM is desired

Security Clearance:
• A current TS Security Clearance with Full Lifestyle polygraph is highly desired but not required. Candidate must possess a minimum CI Polygraph clearance to be considered. You must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
